We now live in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.fr\/maps\/place\/Azusa,+Californie\/@34.137536,-117.947488,13z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x80c2e94241154be3:0x259a1bf37d2f755b!8m2!3d34.1336186!4d-117.9075627\">Azusa<\/a>, about an hour from LA.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.fr\/maps\/place\/Azusa,+Californie\/@34.137536,-117.947488,13z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x80c2e94241154be3:0x259a1bf37d2f755b!8m2!3d34.1336186!4d-117.9075627\"> <\/a>We have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/recarea\/angeles\/recarea\/?recid=41976\">nice canyon<\/a> that is part of the San Gabriel Forest, where there is another local specialty, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/activity\/angeles\/recreation\/ohv\">OHV<\/a> park. Our BnB is along the Highway 39 and every weekend, we see big SUVs, pickups and buggies go to the the OHV area to play in the mud. This is how it looks like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Azusa Canyon O.H.V. Park 5\/11\/19\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TwNhfHnB2P4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Close by there&rsquo;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/irwindalespeedway.com\">Irwindale Speedway<\/a>: there&rsquo;s a race track and a drag track where people come every Thursday night to compete against the clock. The race track is used for different type of racing: <\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=R13ZiCZ525Q&amp;t=498s\">Nascar<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PhVpPXLwXec&amp;t=66s\">Nascar Truck<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=loJQrWqGhWo&amp;t=11574s\">Drift<\/a><\/li><li>Night of Destruction (with many sub-genres, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=x0yzPxApC9Q&amp;t=299s\">School Bus racing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=alZnEqO-uFo\">Trailer racing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=daCASwBDFoU\">Figure of 8<\/a>, etc)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We were supposed to go see the drag racing on Thursday night but missed it, so we decided to go on this Saturday as there were two events: a drift competition and a drag race. The first one we saw bounced on the side wall and had a couple thousands of dollars worth of body and paint work at the end of his show. The second one had a brand new pickup truck, pretty scary to see that heavy thing spinning like this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Gymkhana in Irwindale\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/351896694?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then we went to the drag strip. Drag racing is a tradition here, it&rsquo;s pretty cheap, some people spend their week tuning their car to get a couple of fraction of seconds. Again all kinds of cars, daily drivers, pickup trucks, vintage cars, there&rsquo;s even a mini-dragster category for kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Drag racing in Irwindale\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/351897050?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was funny, we had a good time with Basile though he doesn&rsquo;t like too much the noise and smoke.
