One thing that we do love in the Los Angeles area is the proximity of mountains and the ocean. On our travels to San Francisco and San Diego the kids have built many castles and bridges on the beaches, but we have also some great hikes along and we are really happy to share that passion with them.

In Pasadena we had beautiful trails that were pretty dry when we arrived. Once we reached Woodland Hills, we discovered the greener Topanga Canyon and El Elscorpion Park. They had also been affected by the Wolsey fires, so sometimes you would see whole areas with black ash and some almost fluorescent green plants growing. You could also smell the burnt wood. Fires this year have been very intense across the whole California state.

Many different landscapes, with different stone colours and different plants from one side to the other in a valley. After the big rain last week we can expect to see everything much greener.
